Most calls follow the same three moves
Someone notices a symptom, or a closing date arrives, and the tank gets opened. That first visit is where the guessing stops: water level, sludge depth, backflow at the outlet and the condition of the baffles say most of what there is to know about a system.
If the tank is simply full, the pump-out is the whole job and the next service date gets set from what was measured. If the tank is fine but water is still not leaving, attention moves to the dosing pump or the drain field, which are the two expensive halves and the two worth diagnosing properly.
