What changes in Oceanway
A supply well on the older Oceanway acreage is cased through the clay so the water comes from below the agricultural zone, because the shallow ground here carries the nitrate of decades of farming. The lab test at completion starts with nitrate for that reason, and a lender on a rural lot asks for it by name.
On the new lots the bore is a shallow irrigation well, and the concern is the opposite: iron in the shallow zone that will streak a brand-new driveway. The permit is filed with the county office, or the City of Jacksonville in Duval, before the rig is booked. The bore is drilled, cased, grouted, developed until it runs clear and tested for yield. The pump, pitless adapter and pressure tank are sized to that yield and to the demand. The well is disinfected, the completion report is filed and a sample goes to a certified laboratory before anyone drinks from it.
